SUPPORT

The Prostate Cancer Institute provides regular support to the St George Prostate Support Group. The Group meets on a bi-monthly basis on Friday afternoons at St George Leagues Club. The venue was kindly donated by the club. The group provides honest and accurate information from highly qualified and entertaining speakers. Partners are also welcomed and encouraged to attend.

Meetings alternate between more formal education, discussion sessions and less formal, social gatherings. A range of helpful resources is available through the group. It gives members the opportunity to link up with some "buddies" who may have trod a similar path. Partners will also benefit from talking to other partners.

For further information about the group our contacts are as follows:

St George Hospital Continence Service: 9113 3278 ask for Margaret, Jeannette, Hayley, Anthea or Rhonda or Prostate Cancer CNC Pauline Thomson 9113 3421
The Prostate Cancer Institute also has a Psycho Social Oncology Team consisting of social workers, clinical psychologists and a psychiatrist to further support our patients and their families. To link into these services please consult your doctor or nursing staff at the Institute.
